Local Bike Shop Day
Local Bike Shop Day is the annual celebration where independent bike shops across the UK come together to showcase what makes them truly special. It’s a chance to shine a light on the passion, expertise and personalised service that local bike shops bring to their communities every single day.
This year, the celebrations take place on Saturday 2nd May 2026 – a day dedicated to the joy of cycling and the people who make it thrive. It’s all about community, enthusiasm and the power of shopping local.
So get involved, show your support, and celebrate your local bike shop! And remember, you’re always welcome to drop in any time.
Local Bike Shop Day is an industry-wide initiative managed by the Association of Cycle Traders. You can explore highlights from previous years here.
I’m a Consumer
Local Bike Shop Day is all about celebrating the community and culture that is independent bike shops, giving specialist independent bike dealers (IBDs) the chance to highlight what makes their shop stand out, why consumers should shop local and what sets them apart from bigger national retailers.

So when it comes around to the day, pop into your local bike shop to show your support, take photo’s and add to the buzz on social media with the hashtag #supportyourlocalbikeshop and #localbikeshopday.
